Anyone with a Costa Rican ID, TIM (Minor Identification Card) and DIMEX (Migratory Identity Document for Foreigners) can apply for a prepaid Monibyte Visa card.
Your identification is essential and Visa card from any bank if you have one.
In order to use the crypto wallet you must request our Monibyte Visa prepaid card and register it in the App. Steps to request:
- Download Monibyte from the Apple Store or Google Play.
- Go to ‘Profile’ and press ‘Get your Prepaid card here’
- Follow the indicated steps and wait for your card.
- Register the prepaid card in the app.
- Top up the card through the IBAN or the app.
- Buy the currency you choose.
Verification
The account verification process uses biometric identification and identification to confirm your identity. We ensure that your document is legal, valid and there is no other account created with the same information. We have the strictest procedures.
On the initial screen, the option ‘Forgot your password’ appears to receive a link to the email you used to register. The link allows you to change the password and will only be enabled for 15 minutes for your security.

Monibyte does not have an ATM network, however you can make withdrawals. The withdrawal limit or minimum will depend on the rules of each ATM network. There are even some ATMs that limit withdrawal amounts for security reasons at night.
